Since you are writing about something of which you have knowledge, you will save much time in research. And when you write about your Passions, your writing becomes a joyful time rather than a dreaded task. If you feel that writing in your interest area is too limiting, then branch out into similar areas. For example, if you have an expertise in chemistry, then writing about health shouldn't be too much of a learning curve for you. This will also give you a wider scope for selling your articles, as most magazines have a health section. The health articles can then be stretched to include topics on sporting injuries and how to treat them. Or perhaps nutrition, but narrow this down by focusing on various age groups.
